Japanese authorities have seized a record shipment of 400kg of cocaine, worth $73 million, in the port city of Kobe. The shipment may have reached the city by mistake.

Turkish authorities seized 115 kg of heroin in the Konya province. The drug was hidden in a truck.

21 police officers in Paraguay are accused of receiving bribes to protect a transnational drug smuggling ring led by a Brazilian trafficker.

In a joint action day last week, with the support of Eurojust and Europol, 19 alleged heads of an organised crime group, suspected of large-scale drug trafficking from Ivory Coast and Nigeria to Italy, were arrested in Italy and in several other countries. The network are suspected of smuggling heroin and other drugs into Italy.

The Senegalese Navy supported, by the Spanish Guardia Civil, seized 750kg of cocaine in the high seas. The Gambian Drug law Enforcement Agency participated in the operation that was coordinated by MAOC-N.

Almost one tonne of cocaine was seized in the Port of Savannah in Georgia, USA. The shipment, with a street value of about $31 million, was believed to be destined for Europe.
