From 26 to 29 of March, the regional coordinator of SEACOP for the Caribbean attended the annual Caribbean Basin Coastal Surveillance and Maritime Security Summit (CABSEC) and South-American Security Summit (SAMSEC) combined forum on maritime security organised by the Barbados Defence Force. This year, the forum focused on promoting regional cooperation and countering transnational threats. On the second day of the conference, the Caribbean Regional Coordinator for SEACOP delivered a presentation to introduce SEACOP and to raise awareness about the project. The annual CABSEC/SAMSEC forum was an excellent opportunity to engage with key Caribbean and South American stakeholders who attended the conference and delivered a multidimensional approach to transnational security. To date, the project SEACOP has been implemented in thirteen countries of the Caribbean region, including Barbados.
