  • A survey by the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) has found that London’s sewage contains the highest concentration of cocaine in Europe.
  • 19 members of the ‘Ndrangheta mafia have been arrested in Toronto, following a two-year operation by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), on charges of trafficking cocaine and marijuana.
  • The Global Drug Survey 2015 has found that there has been a “rapid increase” in the past six years of people who purchase recreational drugs online. The Survey found that a quarter of respondents had bought drugs online – an increase from just 5% in 2009.
  • A “sophisticated” drug gang that reportedly imported £10million worth of cocaine to Northampton, UK, from Albanian suppliers, have been jailed for a combined total of 70 years.
  • Venezuela’s foreign affairs ministry has rejected claims from the US that “question the will and tireless work” of the country to combat drug trafficking.
