  • The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has released a report which states that the chemical that Colombia is spraying to eradicate coca plantations is probably carcinogenic.
  • A London-based man has been jailed for 30 years, along with three other men, after police intercepted 40kg of cocaine reported to have a street value of around £11 million. The operation unveiled a drug smuggling network stretching from Mexico to the UK.
  • Six men are due to appear in court after 33kg of cocaine was reportedly discovered at a house in Caterham, UK.
  • James Stavridis, a retired four-star US Navy Admiral, has called for the US to implement a ‘Plan Central America’, based on lessons learnt from ‘Plan Colombia’.
